CREATING A VISUAL IDENTITY FOR AN ECO-CONSCIOUS SKINCARE BRAND
Designing and prototyping packaging for a skin care brand that wears their values on their sleeve.
Goals and Requirements:
Good for You* is a natural, vegan and cruelty free skincare brand that believes in good, simple skincare made for the everyday person. They know today’s market is saturated with information on what is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ for a person’s skin. Their ‘3 step system’ was designed to remove the confusion and replace heavily perfumed and irritative products with a system that ensures everyone gets the perfect starting point in their skincare journey.
The visual identity and subsequent packaging must embody the ethics and values of the brand. By utilising the products packaging as an advertising element and informational tool, the target audience can quickly and clearly understand the brands intention, ethical position and core values.

Summary:
From researching the market, it was determined that an audience quickly identify which products are from the same brand by associating products that are packaged similarly. Many brands utilise bright and bold colours to appear inviting and energetic, while brands utilising a simple text on a white packaging base appear clinical and sometimes, expensive.
The packaging for each Good for You product should incorporate organic lines and a pastel colour palette in combination with an ‘off-white’ base package. This helps to communicate the products brand family and their values to the audience; natural and simple, botanical and scientifically proven ingredients, and dermatologically tested and approved.
