DEVELOPING AN INFORMATION PLATFORM FOR A LOCAL MUSIC VENUE
The Fremantle Arts Centre required a visually distinctive identity and individual website* to advertise their Concert Series, an annual event over summer hosting live concerts from local and touring musicians.
Goals and Requirements:
The Fremantle Arts Centre (FAC) is an art organisation, service and venue housed in a gothic heritage building that holds contemporary visual art exhibitions, concerts, events and art courses in Fremantle Western Australia. FAC required a new website to be designed and built for their annual Concert Series Event held from January until the end of March, where each Sunday local, and touring musicians perform live music. This website was to be distinctly separate from the traditional FAC website branding, while still embodying FAC’s values.
The website required a blog page that FAC staff could easily update and post photos regularly, and a home page that was responsive to those regular updates. These requirements were met by building Word Press templates, utilising PHP, and static HTML pages.

Strategies Implemented:
 - User Research,
 - SEO Research and Analysis,
 - Wire Framing,
 - High Fidelity Mockups.

Tools Used:
 - Figma,
 - Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign),
 - HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript
 - WordPress,
 - GitHub.
User Testing:
User testing was done to understand whether the project had been successful or not, and to identify areas and issues that need to change to better reflect the project goals. From the testing period, some users noted that the link between the Concert Series and the Fremantle Arts Centre wasn’t clear until they got further into the website. Users also noted that the colour scheme and photography used throughout the website aligns with their personal ideas of what an event at Fremantle Arts Centre would look like. Many users identified the moody look and feel to the website which aligned with their own experiences of concerts and concert lighting. Users were able to easily find information about the membership inclusions and discounts, information about the upcoming events and their amenities, and how to purchase tickets.
Feedback through user testing allowed me to revisit aspects of the website design and content to better meet the requirements of the brief. Utilising user testing throughout the prototyping period removes the potential risk of needing to revise a final delivered product.
